RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MORRO BAY, CALIFORNIA
APPROVING A 17-YEAR AND 9-MONTH MASTER LEASE AGREEMENT FOR
LEASE SITE 137 BETWEEN THE CITY OF MORRO BAY AND
CRILLS SALTWATER TAFFY, INC.,
LOCATED AT 1247 EMBARCADERO
T H E C I T Y C O U N C I L
City of Morro Bay, California
WHEREAS, the City of Morro Bay is the lessor of certain properties on the Morro
Bay Waterfront described as City Tidelands leases and properties; and
WHEREAS, Crills Saltwater Taffy (“Tenants”) have been the lessee of Lease Site
137 since the 1970’s, and are tenants in good standing; and
WHEREAS, Tenants wish to continue the operation of a candy store and
undertake exterior improvements to enhance the overall appearance of the building; and,
WHEREAS, Tenants agree to contribute a total of Fifty Thousand Dollars
($50,000) to the City, to be applied toward Harbor capital improvement projects like
HarborWalk or public restroom improvements; and;
WHEREAS, in accordance with the City’s Master Lease Policy, the City and
Tenants have agreed to a new 17-year and 9-month lease agreement for Lease Site 137
located at 1247 Embarcadero.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Morro
Bay, California, as follows:
1. The attached new Master Lease Agreement for Lease Site 137 is hereby
approved.
2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said Master Lease Agreement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Morro Bay at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 23rd day of September 2025 on the following vote:
AYES: Wixom, Eckles, Edwards, Landrum, Luffee
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
RECUSE: None
