Council submitted individual ballots to the City Clerk of their

Peter Diffley and Nancy Bast.
MOTION: Councilmember Risley moved that the 6 individuals
receiving the highest number of votes be appointed to
the Harbor Commission; Read, Giannini, Marciel,
Deschler, Diffley, and Bast. The motion was seconded
by Councilmember Kaltenbach and carried with Council -
member Miller voting no. (4-1)
Councilmember Miller was opposed to appointing a person to the
Commission who had not been interviewed (Nancy Bast). Other
Councilmembers felt that because the individual appointed had
served on the Commission in the past, it was not necessary to
interview her again.
