RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MORRO BAY, CALIFORNIA
TO APPROVE THE SUBMITTAL OF A CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL (CHP) CANNABIS
TAX FUND GRANT PROGRAM (CTFGP) – SMALL AND MID-SIZE LAW ENFORCEMENT
AGENCY GRANT APPLICATION FOR UP TO $208,396
T H E C I T Y C O U N C I L
City of Morro Bay, California
WHEREAS, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) provides grants to local governments to
enhance the department’s enforcement, training, and public education efforts related to impaired
driving.
WHEREAS, the City Council authorizes the City Manager to apply for and receive grant
funds for the purpose of enhancing the Morro Bay Police Department’s impaired-driving
enforcement, training, and public-education efforts.
WHEREAS, if recommended for funding by the California Highway Patrol, the City Council
authorizes the City Manager to accept a grant up to two hundred eight thousand three hundred
and ninety-six dollars ($208,396); and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Morro Bay, the
City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute all necessary documents to implement
and carry out the terms of the grant.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Morro Bay at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 24th day of February 2026, on the following vote:
AYES: Wixom, Eckles, Edwards, Landrum, Luffee
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
